more rice on my diet please?!!

most Filipino for sure cant live without rice. well except for those who are in diet and for those who are not allowed to eat more rice.
i am working with my family in our small canteen in our Barrangay and everyday i have to go to the market with my mom to buy new ingredients and more stuff for our canteen. we are serving Filipino dishes and of course rice is included.
and speaking of rice?! the price of rice is now 31 up to 34 pesos per kilo.. how's that?!
very shocking yes?!
and i think it will increase more because of rice shortage.
what happened to our rice fields? to our farmers? or better ask what happened to our government who are responsible for this..
Philippines has become rice exporter in early 70's and now suffering from rice shortage?!!!!, this now the anxiety of many Filipinos i know.
well i dont blame the government for this matter..but please do your best!
the national food authority said that they have enough supply for rice but why is the price is still increasing..? well i think the Philippines cant stop the price increase anymore. some said that unfortunately the 31 up to 34 pesos per kilo will increase up to 70 pesos. well thats a big problem i think especially for people like us that cant afford.

well i hope we will have solutions to this problem. and please to concern citizen and try to save rice and to those rice dealers try to be more nice to your rice consumer.

Tubbataha Reef, Reef

PHILIPPINES

Tubbataha Reef is an atoll coral reef in the Sulu Sea that belongs to the Philippines. It is a marine sanctuary protected as Tubbataha Reef National Marine Park. The reef is composed of two atolls, North and South Reefs. Each reef has a single small islet that protrudes from the water. The atolls are separated by a deep channel 8 kilometers wide. Over one thousand species, including many that are endangered, can be found at on the reef. These include manta rays, lionfish, tortoises, clownfish and sharks.

Chocolate Hills

The Chocolate Hills is an unusual geological formation in Bohol, Philippines. It is composed of around 1,268 perfectly cone-shaped hills, all about the same size, spr ead over an area of more than 50 sq km The hills are covered in green grass that turns brown during the dry season, giving them the name "Chocolate Hills."

Mayon Volcano

PHILIPPINES

Mayon Volcano is an active volcano on the Filipino island of Luzon, 15 km northwest of Legazpi City.It is classified by volc anologists as a stratovolcano (composite volcano). Its symmetric cone was formed through alternate pyroclastic and lava flows. Mayon is the most active volcano in the country, having erupted over 47 times in the past 400 years, and is a part of what is called the Pacific Ring of Fire.

Devotion

today most of the employees are having their vacation because of the holy week.
i know most of the people from other country don't know what holy week for us filipinos.

aside from the 7107 beautiful islands and hospitality, Philippines is also known for its culture and catholic beliefs. th devotion of the Filipinos for god is really amazing.

holy week starts with the palm sunday or what we it "palaspas". palm sunday is the celebration of the triumphant of jesus to enter jerusalem. Filipinos are gathered to churches with their faith and unopened palm tree leaves. catholics believe that "palaspas " or the palm leaves will have extra ordinary healing power once it will be blessed by holy water in a catholic church.

next day will be holy monday to good friday. black saturday which they said the death of jesus. during my days in my province when i was young, the oldies often say. "you are not allowed to take a bath after 3 pm on good friday. just because im still a kid. i will obey them without asking them why?. they said sign of respect to jesus who suffered and died on the cross.

during those days. many activities are being held in different part of the philippines.
one of them is what we call. Puni or pabasa, where some maiden or oldies will sing a book in which saying about how jesus was born to his death up to his resurrection.

also the flagellants. where in some men doing for years as we call it "panata" or just like a promise that they will do flagellants for showing devotion to god for the miracle he did to him or to the part of the family or friends. this is done by walking barefooted and half naked under a midday sun. whipping their back and allow it to bleed.

Moriones festival, near in my place there is a street where in the youth will have a play. where in one of them will play the role of jesus, maria, joseph and other are the hebrew who chase jesus.
the play is all about how jesus died.


whether you are, Christian, Buddhist, hindu or dont believe in god at all. its always good to respect other people for what they believe as u want them to respect yours too.

i was browsing you tube, looking at most viewed video. and see this video. its really funny when the contestant sing the mariah carey's without you, but worst is she uses her own language not bulgarian language and for sure not english!

i'm not promoting the beautiful places of my country but if u have time to travel around the world well atleast visits some places here, sure you will enjoy the breath-taking views....

my sister's bf went here to visit her and to meet our family, he wanted to go to the beach so i suggested we to hundred island because its the nearest place i know he would like to go..
here some photos that i took..
this is from the top of governor's island, well each island has its name our guide told us .. he even pointed each island and trying to tell us the history and the name.. we get there by bus.. it took us 5 hours to get to alaminos city in pangasinan then another 30 minutes to get the port and rent a boat to get to the islands.. its P800 for the banca (boat) but ofcourse thats not us!
lots of island to choose from but we have chosen the less people, we stayed in Lopez island its just the four of us.. we assume that we're stuck in a virgin island that no one there just us lol peace men!! this is my niece AJ..


the Quezon island is the biggest and have place to stay for those who want to stay overnight for only 1200- up php. thats aj and jeremy oh! sorry po ate joy! i forgot to upload your photo on here...and of course this is me enjoying the water hehe... im not trying to make porno on this site just want to post my photo lol:)

NOSTALGIA

a trip to remember:

nov06 i went to boracay with my friend dina,
me and dina sure enjoyed the beautiful view of the place
it takes 45mins flight from manila domestic airport to get to caticlan airport and another few minutes to get to the boracay island.
sure it was a long trip before u get to the island but u wont get bored coz of the view is indeed amazing! we had a problem getting room coz most of the hotels are fully-booked but we got lucky and finally got room in la reserve hotel, very nice hotel very nice blend of relaxing and romantic ambiance good for the lovers i think:)
i really admired the whole setting of the hotel it is french inspired creation.
that night we went out to get dinner and had a bottle of beers and then went to sleep
the next day was really fun!
we went snorkel, island hop and eat food again..
i think the most funny thing i ever saw in that island is the ice cream vendor in the sea with his boat:P

BREAST CANCER:

Breast cancer which occurs most often in females, is a leading cause of death in women. however, men can also get breast cancer. one in every 8 women will develop this serious, often fatal disease. symptoms of this disease include leakage or puckering of the nipple and changes in skin texture of the breast. early detection is crucial to survive this cancer. women should perform self-examinations on regular basis. mammograms should be done every 2 years between 40 to 49 years old ad once a year thereafter.

Mammography uses low intensity x-rays to detect tumors in the soft tissues of the breast. this procedure detects tumors less than 1 cm that are too small to be detected by self-examination.
if a tumor is detected ,a biopsy is performed to determine whether it is malignant or benign. fortunately, most tumors of the mammary glands are benign.
however, those that are malignant can spread to other parts of the body and eventually lead to death. yet early detection of breast cancer can lead to effective treatment and survival.

What is the difference between benign and malignant lumps/tumors?

Breast lumps or tumors can be benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous). A benign tumor can be removed and in most cases will not come back. A malignant tumor, on the other hand, is a collection of cells which grow and can affect nearby tissues or can break away and travel to distant parts of the body. It is important to note that most breast lumps or tumors are not cancerous.

What causes breast cancer?

Only five to ten percent of breast cancers are hereditary; this is, they are caused by a faulty gene that has been passed down from generation to generation. The vast majority of breast cancers are caused by something else - we are still not positive on a specific cause for the disease. There are many risk factors linked to breast cancer, some that are controllable and some that are not. We ask that you think critically about the ones you can control and do not stress about the ones you cannot.
